01Adding and editing text
Pick the Text tool (T), click the page and type. Enter starts a new line; Esc, Cmd/Ctrl+Enter or clicking away finishes. Click any existing text with the Text tool to edit it again.
02Fonts, size and style
The Text section's Font menu includes the ShoutCreate fonts — 24 display, serif, script and condensed faces, free for commercial use, loaded the moment you pick one. Size has a slider and a number; bold, italic and alignment sit in the Style row.
03Letter spacing and line height
Two sliders under Content: Letter spacing tightens or spreads characters (watch a headline change personality as you drag), Line height sets the space between lines as a % of the font size — 100 tight, 120 comfortable, 200 airy.
04Wrapping and frames
Drag a selected text box's SIDE handles to set its paragraph width — text wraps to fit. The Frame number does the same precisely; 0 means one long line. Corner handles scale the type proportionally (Shift to stretch on purpose).
05Kerning by hand
Turn on Kern in the Text section and small handles appear between letters — drag them to fine-tune individual pairs, the detail that separates good lockups from great ones.
06Text on a curve
Draw a path, select it AND the text, then press Attach in the Path section. Slide moves the text along the curve; Detach releases it. Convert to outlines when you want letterforms as editable shapes.
